WSB’s team consists of those who have been actively involved in the underground detection industry for many years. We understand the political, economical, social, technological and environmental era in Malaysia, whereby the importance of introducing this detection equipment has become mandatory in many areas where rapid development is taking place.
We believe with this Underground Buried Pipe and Cable Detection Equipment we can prevent anyone from damaging the underground utilities. We will be able to provide information related to the route and depth of the buried under ground buried utilities prior to excavation. Currently there are two well-known principle of locating which is used globally.
- Electromagnetic Location
This uses the principle of electromagnetic fields to detect the underground utilities. Principle works on the basis of a current flowing along a conductor in concentric circles. A receiver coil can be used to detect the amplitude of this magnetic field. The amplitude varies depending on the position and orientation of the receiver within the field. The amplitude is maximum when the receiver is in line with the electromagnetic field and directly above the conductor. Moving the receiver from side to side it is possible to follow the maximum signal response and therefore the line of the buried service.
- Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)
The Electromagnetic Location are unable to locate non-metallic buried utilities including plastic water pipe, clay drainage pipe and fiber optic cables. To overcome this potentially hazardous situation, we often combine the use electromagnetic detection with the ground penetrating radar system (GPR). A GPR works by sending a pulse of energy into material and recording the strength and the time required for the return of any reflected signal. A series of pulses over a single area make-up what is called a scan, or sometimes is called a trace. Reflections are produced whenever the energy pulse enters into a material with different electrical conduction properties from the material it left.
